The DC Film Alliance (DCFA) serves and strengthens the media arts in the greater Washington DC region by bringing together filmmakers and the public to participate in diverse film, video, television, and multimedia events.
Dear Friend and Film Enthusiast,
Did you know that the DC region is the third largest film and media economy in the country? I know -- I am surprised, too.
Think about it -- all of the news, and the large cable companies, plus the great deal of game development and computer animation. And of course, our vibrant independent filmmaking community. Add to this more than 58 film festivals (the most per capita than anywhere on the globe), and you have an amazing resource of creative talent and appreciative audiences.
The DC Film Alliance (DCFA) serves and strengthens the media arts in the greater Washington DC region by bringing together filmmakers and the public to participate in diverse film, video, television, and multimedia events.
In the past year, we have worked hard to bring you the area's only complete calendar of every film event, screening, class and casting call on our web site. We recently produced an incredible brochure listing 58 regional film festivals. Our annual conference of film festival directors is the only time each year all of these leaders are able to get together to discuss issues and concerns which they face. The monthly Salon provided networking opportunities for indie filmmakers -- and in 2010, a chance for the entire industry to meet with members of the DC government to voice their concerns about the future of the business.
But in order for all of this to happen, we need your support.
Please consider a donation of as little as $10. That's less than the price of a movie ticket.
For a gift of $50 or more, we are happy to offer you two tickets to the "Best of DC Shorts" screenings coming in February,
And do not forget our unique Red Carpet Pass -- a single ticket which allows entry into the opening night screening and party of 24 regional film festivals (details below).
We can't do it without you. Thank you so much!
Your truly,
Jon Gann
